A year after the shocking theft of confidential material belonging to Beyoncé’s team, the theft of the Beyoncéteam, the justice system in Atlanta sentenced the perpetrator.
Kevin Evans pleaded guilty in Fulton County Superior Court to stealing hard drives containing unreleased songs, production documents, and other key files related to the hit tour Cowboy Carter Tour.
Beyoncé music theft case: A five-year sentence

During the hearing held on May 12, Evans accepted charges of criminal trespassing and entering a vehicle with intent to commit theft. As part of the plea agreement, he was sentenced to five years in prison, although he will only have to serve two years behind bars. The rest of the sentence will be on probation.
In addition, the defendant will be prohibited from approaching the area where the crime occurred and will not be allowed to establish any type of contact with the victims involved in the case.

With this evidence, authorities identified Kevin Evans, who was arrested in September 2025 and subsequently released on $20,000 bail.
The Cowboy Carter Tour ended up consolidating itself as one of the most successful shows of the year, with revenues in excess of $407 million from 32 concerts.
The ruling against Evans brings to an end one of the most surprising episodes surrounding the tour and confirms that, even in the face of high-profile incidents, Beyoncé’s team managed to keep one of the most ambitious productions of her career on track.
