In today’s era of immediacy, where anxiety is increasingly consubstantial to the modern lifestyle, Evaluna calls for calm and reflection with her latest single: ‘Rollitos de papel’, which invites us to look back and appreciate the road we have traveled.
“Everyone talks all the time about how important movement is. It is also cool to talk about stillness and how important it is to stop and see everything you have lived and where you have arrived,” said the Venezuelan artist in an interview to EFE in Miami.
This is the first solo track released by Evaluna since she gave birth to her second daughter, Amaranto, in August 2024, although in between she has released singles with her husband, Colombian singer Camilo.
“To stop, to feel love where you are. Not necessarily chasing all the time but letting things find you, that was a little bit what we wanted to achieve with the song,” the artist continued.
The author of hits such as ‘Indigo’ and ‘Por primera vez’ revealed that her latest release comes at a “super special” moment precisely because it is the first one as the mother of two girls, and explains that she wrote it thinking of “God and that unconditional love” that she feels accompanies her today.
She also assured that she has no problem sharing her feelings “as a mom and as my own person,” as the public family she forms with Camilo and her two daughters, but she drew a red line when it comes to her girls, whom she prefers to keep more intimate.
“I don’t want to decide the future for them, that’s why we don’t put them in the photos or take them out on our social networks,” he said.
As the daughter of singer Ricardo Montaner and producer Marlene Rodriguez, Evaluna knows what it’s like to maintain a balance between fame and family, and she proved it just a few months ago with ‘Navidad en cada esquina’, her latest release with Camilo, in which they celebrated the importance of being present in the here and now.
Evaluna: Touring Europe and the U.S. with Camilo
Regarding his future, Evaluna said that the most immediate is the tour that Camilo will start next June 13 in the Spanish town of Santa Cruz de Tenerife as part of the ‘Tenerife Music Festival’ and in which, as usual, she plans to accompany him.
The tour will also include other dates in Europe in places such as London, Paris, Milan, Dietikon (Switzerland) and Amsterdam, as well as concerts in Miami and Orlando (Florida), Rosemont (Illinois) and New York, in the United States.
“Just on this tour of Europe we’re going to Amsterdam and I’ve never been. It is a (place) that has always provoked me to get to know. I think we’re going to stay for a couple of days,” the artist said.
And although the singing couple is not scheduled to perform in Latin America this year, Evaluna recalled that she loves to visit the stages in this part of the planet.
“I love touring in Latin America. All the concerts in Latin America make me very excited,” he concluded, reported Agencia EFE.
