Although it is about to be three years since the death of Julián Figueroa, son of Maribel Guardia and singer-songwriter Joan Sebastian, his name is once again gaining strength in the public conversation. On this occasion, the attention is focused on the dissemination of two videos that show episodes of violence that occurred during his relationship with his former wife, Imelda Tuñón, material that has generated impact and multiple reactions.
In one of the videos that have begun to circulate, Julián appears recording Imelda inside the bathroom of his house. In the images, the young woman can be seen hitting her head against the floor while the singer records the scene and issues a warning: “I have you on tape, if you attack me I have you on tape, you’re going to jail”. Imelda, dressed in a bathrobe, asks him to leave the place and closes the door while she insults him.
Moments later, Julian re-enters the bathroom and continues recording. “Like you burned my eyes with acetone, didn’t you? You did that to yourself,” he is heard saying. Imelda insists that he leave and tries to push away the phone with which he continues to document the situation.
Julián Figueroa claims to be a victim of aggressions

In a second video, Julian shows his visibly injured finger and claims that it was bitten by his wife. At that moment, he declares that from then on he will start documenting the aggressions that, according to him, he suffers within the relationship. “From now on I am going to document all the aggressions that are done to me. My wife bit my finger, you can see it here, she opened it. I think she hurt a ligament,” he says, while showing the wounds.
In the same clip, the singer emphasizes that his intention is to record the facts and stresses that men also have rights when they are victims of domestic violence.
According to published reports, the videos were recently shared by a close friend of Julián Figueroa, who received them at the time as part of the evidence that the singer was gathering against Imelda Tuñón. The dissemination occurs in the midst of a complex family context, since about a year ago Imelda stopped having a close relationship with Maribel Guardia.
The actress said at the time that Imelda was facing addiction problems, which is why she took legal action to protect her grandson, José Julián. The minor lived for a few weeks with his grandmother; however, a judge later determined that he should return to his mother.
Mixed views and a relationship marked by ups and downs

Imelda Tuñón has publicly denounced that she was also a victim of violence by Julián Figueroa. Days after these statements, videos came to light showing scenes of confrontation between the two, which reinforces the version of a stormy relationship, characterized by constant conflicts, according to people close to the couple.
Before the videos were made public, Marco Chacón, Maribel Guardia’s husband, affirmed that during the last year of Julián’s life, the couple no longer lived together as a couple. According to his version, Imelda would have asked the singer to sleep in the guest room and intended to divorce him.
The dissemination of this material has rekindled the debate on violence within relationships, the complexity of family conflicts and the consequences that persist even after death. The case of Julián Figueroa, far from being closed, continues to raise questions and to arouse conflicting positions.
