The Los Angeles Dodgers managed to retain their Major League Baseball championship title on Saturday, in a successful run where Latino players such as Miguel Rojas, Kiké Hernández, Teoscar Hernández and Andy Pagés proved their worth.

The Dodgers played this Saturday a seventh and decisive game, which ended with a 4-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, where the contribution of Latino talent said “present”, as it did in each of the games of the Fall Classic. Here are the Latinos who shined in the World Series.

Rojas, one of the Latinos shining in the World Series

In a roster full of stellar players with Hall of Fame careers, Venezuela’s Miguel Rojas left an indelible mark with his home run to tie the game on Saturday, when the Dodgers were two outs away from losing their status as Major League champions.

“It came at the most important moment of my career, in front of the city of Los Angeles, I can’t describe the emotions I felt, not only in the game. I could not have done it without the confidence of my teammates and the coach who believed in me,” Rojas told ‘FOX’ at the end of Game 7 of the World Series.

Rojas, who started at second base in the last two games of the World Series, not only shined with the bat, but also maintained a high level of defense, as when in the ninth inning, with the bases loaded, he took a pitch and retired a runner at the plate to prevent the Blue Jays from scoring the run that would have meant the win for Toronto.

“It’s a great feeling, winning the World Series in the seventh game. Double for the first time in 25 years,” said the Venezuelan.

Kiké Hernández and the pride of being a Dodger

Puerto Rican Kiké Hernández is not the figure the Dodgers expect him to carry them through a whole season, but come the postseason, the versatile utility player from the “Island of Enchantment” shows that his contribution is invaluable to the team managed by Dave Roberts.

Hernandez has always proven to be the owner of a bat that responds in big moments during the playoffs, where he has also donned the cape to show his defensive value, but above all to show the pride it takes to wear the Dodgers jersey.

“It’s not just any franchise, man. It’s the Los Angeles Dodgers. They’ve been here for a long time and they have a lot of history. And for a guy like me, from Puerto Rico, who has swum against the current all his life, to be in this position is something very special,” Hernandez told MLB.com, after conquering the record for games played in the postseason in Dodgers history.

Kiké, who has 16 home runs in the postseason, left as evidence of his time in this World Series, the double elimination with which he ended the sixth game and led the Dodgers to a do-or-die game, in which they managed to retain the crown.

Teoscar Hernandez, the silent star

With the lights shining on stars such as Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, among others, the work of the Dominican Teoscar Hernandez has been based on being the silent star who contributes and provides protection to those stars, knowing that it is his job to help the Dodgers win.

One player alone is not enough to win the World Series

Hernandez on Saturday produced the first run to fuel the Dodgers’ comeback, on his part in helping to secure the win for his team.

Andy Pagés and seize the opportunity to shine

Although he had a difficult postseason, Cuban Andy Pagés did not miss the opportunity and responded to the trust placed in him by manager Roberts, making one of the most extraordinary plays of the seventh game of the World Series.

Pagés, who came into Saturday batting just .063 in this Fall Classic, came in to play defense in center field in the ninth inning, in which he caught Ernie Clement’s hit off the wall, even though he collided with Puerto Rico’s Kiké Hernández, to prevent the Blue Jays from winning the game, giving the Dodgers back what they expected from him.
