Among celebrities and claiming the dance floor as a space of freedom, Madonna presented this Monday ‘Confessions II: The Film’, a 13-minute short film that anticipates part of the repertoire of her next album.

“Out here on the dance floor, I feel so free,” Madonna says at the beginning of the video that hit the YouTube platform today after having its ‘premiere’ at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on Friday.

The project directed by the directing duo known as TORSO, formed by David Toro and Solomon Chase, arose from the singer’s desire to artistically elevate the visual work of her long-awaited album ‘Confessions II’.

“A video sounded cheap,” the Queen of Pop said during the premiere, according to information from Billboard.

The film focuses on the first six tracks of what will become their fifteenth studio album to be released on July 3.

The production features collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter and Feid, two of the artists who accompany the singer in this visual and sensual fantasy captured by TORSO.

The short film has been the talk of the town mainly because of the appearance of several high-ranking celebrities such as actor Benedict Cumberbatch (‘Doctor Strange’) or model Kate Moss, who appear dancing in the bathroom of a nightclub.

Also in the space are Gwendoline Christie (‘Game of Thrones’), Richard E. Grant (‘Gosford Park’), Odessa A’zion (‘Marty Supreme’), Archie Madekwe (‘Gran Turismo’) and Venezuelan singer Arca, who also collaborated as producer on the song ‘I Feel So Free’, among others.

Julia Garner, an actress confirmed to play Madonna in the upcoming biopic, appears among the special guests with a cameo in a club scene, where she sports one of the signature spiked cup bras associated with the artist in the 1980s, reinforcing her resemblance to the singer.

The short film closes with: “Cut bitches”, said by Lourdes Leon, the daughter of the New York singer, who holds one of the cameras that record sensual scenes of women in an apartment.

The film festival had described the film as “an ambitious 10-minute-plus visual work built around the first six songs from Madonna’s upcoming album, including ‘I Feel So Free’ and ‘Bring Your Love,’ featuring Sabrina Carpenter.”

Last week Madonna surprised her fans with a concert in Times Square to present the album that serves as a sequel to ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’ (2005).

Meanwhile, in April, the author of ‘Like a Prayer’ appeared at the Coachella Festival as a guest star of Carpenter’s show, who was one of the headliners of this edition, reported Agencia EFE.
