Guillermo del Toro‘s ‘Frankenstein,’ Zach Cregger’s ‘Weapons’ and Joseph Kosinski’s ‘F1′ are among the films nominated for the PGA Awards, which are given by the Hollywood Producers Guild, the organization announced.
The films will seek to win the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Best Motion Picture Producer alongside Yorgos Lanthimos’ ‘Bugonia’, Chloé Zhao’s ‘Hamnet’, Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’, Joachim Trier’s ‘Sentimental Value’, Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’ and Clint Bentley’s ‘Train Dreams’.
This award is usually one of the strongest indicators in the Oscar race for Best Picture. According to Variety, 17 of the last 22 Zanuck winners have won Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

The award for best animated feature film producer for cinema will be contested by the Korean phenomenon ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’, the anime ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle ‘,’The Bad Guys 2’, ‘Elio’ and ‘Zootopia 2’.
PGA awards are strong Oscar indicators
In television, ‘Andor’, ‘The Diplomat’, ‘The Pitt’, ‘Pluribus’, ‘Severance’ and ‘The White Lotus’ received a nomination for the Norman Felton Award for Best Television Drama Series Producer.
While the comedy category, the Danny Thomas Award, contemplates the productions of ‘The Bear’, ‘Hacks’, ‘Only Murders in the Building’, ‘The Studio’ and ‘South Park’.

Miniseries ‘Adolescence,’ ‘Black Mirror,’ ‘Black Rabbit,’ ‘Dying for Sex’ and ‘The Beast in Me’ are competing for the David L. Wolper award and the award for best nonfiction television producer will be contested between ‘aka Charlie Sheen,’ ‘Billy Joel: And So It Goes,’ ‘Mr. Scorsese,’ ‘Pee-wee as Himself’ and ‘SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night.’
The winners of the 37th edition of the PGA Awards will be announced on February 28 at a ceremony to be held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, reported Agencia EFE.
