The music world is once again looking at Flea, bassist and co-founder of Red Hot Chili Peppers, who presented the first preview of his next solo album: ‘A Plea’. The project, which will be released in 2026 under Nonesuch Records, shows a deeply personal side of the artist, marked by the return to his first musical love: the trumpet.<\/p>\n

Although the album’s title will remain a secret until early 2026, ‘A Plea’ already offers a powerful glimpse into the project’s sonic and emotional direction. The song – written and performed entirely by Flea – brings together elements of modern jazz, experimentation and introspective sensibility.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Flea explained that the lyrics of ‘A Plea’ are “a longing for a place beyond, a place of love, where I can speak my mind and be myself.”<\/p>\n

The musician reflected on the division affecting the United States and the world, and assured that his intention goes beyond the political debate:<\/p>\n

“I’m not interested in the act of politics. I think there is a much more transcendent place… There is a place where we meet, and that is love.”<\/p>\n
