Spanish coach Domenec Torrent’s Rayados de Monterrey defeated Necaxa 2-0 on Tuesday for their first win in the Apertura 2026 Mexican soccer tournament.<\/p>\n

On the second day of the championship, Argentine Germ\u00e1n Berterame and young Iker Fimbres scored for the Rayados.<\/p>\n

Rayados took control early<\/h2>\n

Uruguayan coach Mart\u00edn Varini’s Necaxa began with a dominant start.<\/p>\n

But after five minutes, the Rayados took control and in the 15th minute took the lead with a right-footed goal by Bertareme, off a pass from Spaniard Oliver Torres.<\/p>\n

Monterrey fell behind after the goal, despite which they extended the lead with a right-footed strike from Fimbres in the 31st minute, assisted by Roberto de la Rosa.<\/p>\n

Los Rayos attacked more in the second half, led by Colombian Kevin Rosero, but lacked punch.<\/p>\n

Especially in the 52nd minute, when Argentinian duo Tom\u00e1s Badaloni and Kevin Carranza made a good save by goalkeeper Luis C\u00e1rdenas.<\/p>\n

Rosero kept the lead, outwitted defenders in the 81st minute, but Franco Rossano missed the target in Necaxa’s clearest chance of the game.<\/p>\n

Monterrey has one win, one loss and three points, the same balance as Necaxa.<\/p>\n

In another game, Venezuelan Salom\u00f3n Rond\u00f3n scored his first goal of the tournament to give Pachuca a 2-1 win over Le\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Moroccan Oussama Idrissi and Rond\u00f3n scored for the Tuzos and Argentine Rogelio Funes Mori scored for the visitors.<\/p>\n

After 45 minutes of fighting, the Tuzos took the lead on a counterattack with a right-footed goal by Idrissi, assisted by Venezuelan Jhonder C\u00e1diz.<\/p>\n

Pachuca went for more and in the 69th minute extended the lead with a shot by Rond\u00f3n into the corner from outside the box.<\/p>\n

Funes Mori scored his goal, left-footed in the 84th minute.<\/p>\n

Two hours earlier, Colombian \u00c9dgar Guerra scored a goal to seal Puebla’s 2-1 win over Mazatl\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

Esteban Lozano and \u00c9dgar Guerra scored for Puebla and Argentine Facundo Almada scored for the visitors.<\/p>\n

Also on Tuesday, Chivas de Guadalajara defeated Juarez FC in a duel of undefeated teams.<\/p>\n

This Wednesday Cruz Azul will host Atlas, Quer\u00e9taro will host Tijuana, Am\u00e9rica will host San Luis, Tigres UANL will host Pumas UNAM and Toluca will face Santos Laguna<\/a>.<\/p>\n
