The Miami Dolphins have hired former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as their new head coach for the next five seasons, NFL Network<\/a> reported Monday.<\/p>\n

Hafley, 46, replaces the dismissed Mike McDaniel, who until January 8 last year completed four seasons, and in the last two delivered negative results: 8 wins and 9 losses in 2024. Last year he left a balance of 7 wins and 10 losses, which left the team out of the playoffs.<\/p>\n

It will be the first head coaching experience for Jeff Hafley, who spent two years as the Packers’ defensive coordinator with outstanding numbers.<\/p>\n

In 2024 he led his players to be the sixth lowest scoring defense among the 32 NFL teams.<\/p>\n

This season, the Packers’ defense looked consistent until they lost star man Micah Parsons to injury.<\/p>\n
