The Mexican National Team received key news for its preparation process: Richard Ledezma and Brian Guti\u00e9rrez will now be able to officially represent El Tri, after FIFA confirmed their eligibility, according to a statement issued by the Mexican Soccer Federation(FMF<\/a>).<\/p>\n

This resolution allows both players to be available for the preparation matches against Panama and Bolivia, two games that are part of Mexico’s work schedule on its way to the next international challenges.<\/p>\n

The case of Ledezma and Guti\u00e9rrez required a formal proceeding because both have dual nationality.<\/p>\n

An increasingly common situation in modern soccer, especially among players trained or born outside of Mexico but with Mexican roots.<\/p>\n

In addition, the most important point was that both players had already had previous participation with U.S. national teams.<\/p>\n

This required the so-called change of association with FIFA.<\/p>\n

This procedure is essential for a player who has already represented another federation in certain categories to be able to change national teams.<\/p>\n

According to the FMF, the world soccer governing body has already completed its review and gave the green light for both players to wear the Mexican National Team jersey without restrictions.<\/p>\n
