The 2026 Winter Olympic Games 2026, officially called Milan-Cortina<\/a> 2026, are being held February 6-22 in Italy, with more than 3 500 athletes from 93 countries in 16 snow and ice sports disciplines.<\/p>\n

For the Hispanic community in the United States, this event has special relevance due to the participation of Latin American athletes and competitors from California, many of whom represent stories of achievement, diversity and pride.<\/p>\n

Mexico will compete with a delegation of five athletes, the largest in the country’s history at an Olympic Winter Games.<\/p>\n

Donovan Carrillo<\/strong> – Figure Skating

\nLasse Gaxiola<\/strong> – Alpine skiing (with his mother Schleper, first mother-son duo for Mexico in Winter Olympics)
\nAllan Corona<\/strong> – Cross-country skiing
\nRegina Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> – Cross-country skiing<\/p>\n

The Mexican participation stands out not only for the number of participants, but also for its diversity of disciplines and symbolic moments.<\/p>\n

Like the joint presence of mother and son in the same Olympic sport.<\/p>\n

Puerto Rico and the Caribbean on ice<\/strong><\/p>\n

Puerto Rico will compete with Kellie Delka<\/strong>, skeleton athlete.<\/p>\n

Argentina will have one of its largest-ever delegations to a Winter Olympic Games with eight athletes, including stars in alpine, cross-country and luge skiing.<\/p>\n

Uruguay returns to the snow with Nicol\u00e1s Pirozzi<\/strong> in alpine skiing, marking a renewed Uruguayan interest in winter sports.<\/p>\n
