Argentine \u00c1ngel Correa, forward for Tigres UANL<\/a> of Mexican soccer, said Friday that his country’s national team is one of the favorites to win the 2026 World Cup thanks to the presence of Lionel Messi.<\/p>\n

“As long as Messi is on the pitch, Argentina will always be favorites; that’s clear for us,” the striker said.<\/p>\n

Correa, who was part of the national team that lifted the World Cup in Qatar 2022, talked about how hard he is working to earn a place in Lionel Scaloni’s team.<\/p>\n

“It is a reality that there is very little left for the World Cup.”<\/p>\n

“I am fortunate to have participated in Qatar with that great squad; it was a unique and historic experience,” he recalled.<\/p>\n

“In my head is always wanting to be back, but I am aware that there are many players and Scaloni has it very complicated.”<\/p>\n

“But my job is to do well and always be ready to convince him,” added the Argentine attacker.<\/p>\n

At the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, the United States and Canada, Argentina’s national team heads Group J, where it will face Algeria, Jordan and Austria.<\/p>\n
