Lionel Messi once again generated conversation among Latino fans by revealing that he follows Mexican soccer since he lives in the United States, as the Inter Miami captain explained that the geographical proximity and more accessible schedules allow him to watch Liga MX matches more frequently, something that was previously more complicated when he played in Europe.<\/p>\n

The remarks came during a chat with his friend and compatriot Nahuel Guzm\u00e1n on the “Miro de Atr\u00e1s”<\/a> podcast, where the 2022 World Cup winner spoke about the growing relationship between MLS and Liga MX. “When you’re in Europe the schedules make it more difficult, but when you’re here you consume a lot of Mexican soccer,” Messi commented, noting that the proximity between the two countries makes it easier for fans – and the players themselves – to follow both leagues. “I think MLS teams have grown a lot, and when Mexican teams come to play here, it’s hard for them,” he said.<\/p>\n
