Lionel Messi knocked down. An unexpected scene marked the friendly match between Inter Miami and Independiente del Valle played in Puerto Rico: a security agent accidentally knocked down Lionel Messi while trying to stop a fan who had invaded the field.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred in the 88th minute, when the MLS<\/a> team was already leading 2-1. Four fans entered the field at different times. One of them managed to approach Messi and get an autograph while the match was stopped. Seconds later, another fan hugged the Argentine from behind when a guard rushed to intercept him without realizing he was holding the player. The impact ended with both of them on the grass. Messi, 38, got up visibly upset, although the match was able to end without further consequences. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

The match had been rescheduled after Lionel Messi suffered a muscular discomfort, without imagining that he would be knocked down later, in a previous friendly.<\/p>\n

Finally, the Puerto Rican public was able to see the world champion, who came on in the second half and scored on a penalty kick.<\/p>\n

Inter Miami won 2-1 with goals from Santiago Morales and Messi, while Patrik Mercado scored for the Ecuadorian side.<\/p>\n

The duel had other tense moments, including a scuffle in the first half and a physical game that at times was intense on the Argentine captain.<\/p>\n
