U.S. actor<\/a> Kevin Spacey has reached an out-of-court settlement with three men accusing him of sexual assault in the United Kingdom, avoiding the start of a civil trial in London’s High Court, British media report Thursday.<\/p>\n

The parties agreed on confidential terms, after which the courts ordered the suspension of the proceedings with the consent of all parties involved, although neither the details of the agreement nor any possible compensation have been disclosed.<\/p>\n

The plaintiffs contended that the events occurred between 2000 and 2015, in several cases after meeting the performer, now 66, during his time as artistic director of London’s Old Vic theater, a position he held from 2004 to 2013.<\/p>\n

One of them, actor Ruari Cannon – who has waived anonymity – claimed that Spacey sexually assaulted him in 2013 at an event linked to the play ‘Sweet Bird of Youth’ by Tennessee Williams, while the other two, identified in the proceedings as LNP and GHI, reported alleged abuse at different periods.<\/p>\n

The settlement closes the civil route for these three plaintiffs, after Spacey was acquitted in 2023 of nine sex offenses in a criminal trial also held in London, related to allegations by four men, including Cannon himself.<\/p>\n

The civil trial was scheduled for October of this year, but is now without effect after the agreement reached between the parties. The actor, known for films such as ‘American Beauty’ and the series ‘House of Cards’, has denied all charges, reported Agencia EFE. <\/p>\n
