Luka Doncic is out “indefinitely” with a hamstring injury sustained in last night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, just two weeks before the start of the playoffs, ESPN<\/a> reported Friday.<\/p>\n

Doncic will miss the Lakers’ remaining five regular-season games and his availability for the playoffs is uncertain right now, according to Shams Charania, one of the league’s best-sourced insiders. The playoffs will begin next Saturday, April 18.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Slovenian, who has played 64 games this season, is out of the running for the NBA awards – which require a minimum of 65 games – just as his MVP candidacy was gaining momentum.<\/p>\n

Luka Doncic’s injury occurred during the third quarter of the game, when he ended up lying on the court and covering his face with his hands.<\/p>\n

The Lakers planned to have him undergo an MRI this Friday.<\/p>\n

The Thunder crushed the Lakers 139-96, the second worst loss of LeBron James’ career.<\/p>\n

Prior to his injury, Luka Doncic had thirteen games with 30 points or more, averaging 39.8, with historic nights such as 60 points against the Miami Heat on March 19.<\/p>\n
