In an unprecedented legal move, five U.S. citizens and one legal resident have filed lawsuits against the U.S. government, accusing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ice.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICE<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBP<\/a> agents of systematic violations of their civil rights during last year&#8217;s mass raids.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Citizens sue Trump over massive raids<\/h2>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Cary Lopez Alvarado, of Hawthorne, CA, was nine months pregnant, a US citizen.<\/p>\n<p>Angie Rodriguez, an immigrant from Columbia, miscarried while in custody and has filed a lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Antonia Aguilar Maldonado, a mother of two from El Salvador, her youngest child was still nursing&#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/evpv17Rs3X\">pic.twitter.com\/evpv17Rs3X<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Sammi\ud83e\udd8b (@StoriesBySammi) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/StoriesBySammi\/status\/1999900994491027930?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 13, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nWhat is described in the complaints filed in California are not just administrative errors, but episodes of police brutality.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney Luis Carrillo called the agents&#8217; actions &#8220;brutal,&#8221; noting that racial profiling was the driving force behind these unjust arrests.<\/p>\n<p>Among the most heartbreaking cases are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cary Lopez:<\/strong> A U.S. citizen who, despite repeatedly identifying herself, was detained while <a href=\"https:\/\/queonnda.com\/en\/alert-lack-of-care-for-pregnant-women-detained-by-ice-denounced\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pregnant<\/a>. Lopez claims that the stress of detention caused her baby to be born prematurely.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrea Velez:<\/strong> Violently arrested while on her way to work. A video captured the moment she was subdued in front of her mother; she spent two nights in jail for a crime that was later dismissed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juan Jos\u00e9 Guti\u00e9rrez:<\/strong> Activist and U.S. citizen, who upon returning from Mexico was handcuffed to a table for three hours at the Los Angeles airport, ignoring his official documents.<\/p>\n<h2>The cost of &#8220;Zero Tolerance&#8221;.<\/h2>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"es\">Who is Andrea Velez?
