What looked like a doomed race from the first lap ended up turning into one of the most memorable comebacks of the season for Denny Hamlin, as the veteran Joe Gibbs Racing driver overcame a penalty at the start of the race and ended up conquering the NASCAR<\/a> Cup Series race at Nashville, proving once again why he remains one of the most dangerous competitors in the championship.<\/p>\n

The day started in the worst possible way for Hamlin. After winning the pole position, he was penalized for overtaking at the start, an infraction that forced him to serve a drive-through and fall to the back of the field as soon as the race began. For many drivers, such a penalty usually means the end of any aspirations of victory. Hamlin, however, had other plans.<\/p>\n
