The earthquake was felt in several regions of southern California, although no major damage or casualties have been reported so far.<\/p>\n<h2><!--more--><\/h2>\n<h2>Aftershocks and seismic records<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_29549\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29549\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29549 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/queonnda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/sismo-este-san-diego-x.jpg\" alt=\"earthquake east San Diego, earthquake, earthquake, east San Diego, San Diego, Julian, Qu\u00e9Onnda\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1432\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-29549\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Earthquake hits east of San Diego \/ PHOTO: Screenshot X<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Following the main event, the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/USGS_Quakes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USGS<\/a> recorded several smaller aftershocks in the same area.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the day before, on Sunday, April 13, another 3.3 magnitude tremor was reported in the vicinity of Julian, suggesting an increase in local seismic activity during the past 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Experts explain that such events are not unusual in California, where the San Andreas fault and other active geologic faults cross much of the state, generating periodic ground shaking.<\/p>\n<h2>No tsunami warning<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_29543\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29543\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-29543\" src=\"https:\/\/queonnda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/falla-san-andres-shutterstock_1811817223.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-29543\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Earthquake hits east of San Diego \/ PHOTO: Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The National Weather Service Office in San Diego confirmed that there is no tsunami risk from this earthquake, since the epicenter was on land and not underwater.<\/p>\n<p>However, its forecasters reported having felt the movement from their offices, which evidences the intensity with which it was perceived in some areas.<\/p>\n<h2>Governor Newsom was informed<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_29541\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29541\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-29541\" src=\"https:\/\/queonnda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/falla-san-andres-shutterstock_770155978.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"567\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-29541\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Earthquake hits east of San Diego \/ San Andreas Fault \/ PHOTO: Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to an official posting on the X network (formerly known as Twitter), California Governor Gavin Newsom&#8217;s office was immediately informed of the quake, and is currently coordinating with local authorities to assess damage and determine if any emergency response is needed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The state is in communication with local authorities to monitor the situation and act if necessary,&#8221;
