Miami, Florida.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"40\" data-end=\"152\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">The deaths of Maksym Chernyak, a 44-year-old Ukrainian national, and Genry Ru\u00edz-Guill\u00e9n, a 29-year-old Honduran national, have raised concerns about possible medical negligence and inadequate conditions at the facility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"40\" data-end=\"152\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"159\" data-end=\"189\">The case of Maksym Chernyak<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_37839\" duration-100 ease-in-out\">Maksym Chernyak entered the United States on August 24, 2024 under a humanitarian permit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"191\" data-end=\"468\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">On January 26, 2025, he was arrested by ICE in Fort Lauderdale on assault charges and subsequently transferred to the Krome Center on February 2.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"191\" data-end=\"468\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">On February 18, Chernyak suffered vomiting and seizures; he was transported to HCA Kendall Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a cerebral hemorrhage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"191\" data-end=\"468\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">He died on February 20.<\/span> <span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">Reports indicate that there was a delay of more than 40 minutes in calling emergency convulsions prior to his death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"512\" data-end=\"751\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">The autopsy revealed complications associated with a schizoaffective disorder and the presence of multiple medications in his system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"512\" data-end=\"751\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">Experts suggest that he may have suffered from rhabdomyolysis, a potentially fatal condition that can develop in people immobilized for prolonged periods of time<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"792\">Conditions at the ICE Krome
