These detentions were based solely on ICE administrative orders, which was deemed a violation of constitutional rights by federal judges.<\/p>\n<h2><!--more--><\/h2>\n<h2>Who qualifies for the in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/doc\/index.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Department of Corrections<\/a> facility between April 1, 1997 and December 21, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being held solely on an ICE detainer.<\/p>\n<p>There are two groups within the agreement:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recent group:<\/strong> detained between February 1, 2007 and ways:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Online:<\/strong> on the official website of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atticusadmin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Atticus Administration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By mail:<\/strong> by downloading and sending the corresponding form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Printed form:<\/strong> mailed to identified claimants.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>The original deadline was May 15, 2025, but organizations such as NYCLU and MOIA are asking for an extension of the deadline.<\/p>\n<p>This is due to the lack of information in languages such as Spanish, Chinese and Arabic.<\/p>\n<p>Payments are expected to begin to be distributed 30 days after final court approval, provided there are no appeals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where to find free help?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/spanish.translate.nyc.gov\/site\/immigrants\/index.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York City Mayor&#8217;s Office of Immigrant Affairs<\/a> (MOIA) has set up a toll-free, multilingual hotline with extended hours.<\/p>\n<p>Informative workshops are also being held in churches, community only a legal advance in the defense of immigrant rights, but also a formal recognition of the harm caused.<\/p>\n<p>Although the payment does not fully compensate for the traumas experienced, it does open the door to further structural reforms in the immigration system.<\/p>\n<p>Organizations such as the NYCLU have warned that there are still detention centers that have been singled out for abuse,
