Toluca was crowned champion of the Clausura 2025 Liga MX Tournament after defeating Am\u00e9rica 2-0 at the Nemesio D\u00edez Stadium. With goals from Luan Garc\u00eda and Alexis Vega, the Red Devils lifted their first title since 2010 and put an end to a drought that was already weighing too heavily.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, May 25, the Scarlets were determined to write a new page in their history. They faced none other than America, three-time defending champions and with their sights set on an unprecedented tetra-championship. However, the inferno proved too much for the \u00c1guilas.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>A goal to ignite the Infierno<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44555\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44555\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-44555 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/queonnda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/toluca-GettyImages-2217055501.jpg\" alt=\"Toluca Clausura 2025 champion, Toluca, Clausura 2025 champion, Clausura 2025, Qu\u00e9Onnda\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-44555\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Toluca is champion of the Clausura 2025 \/ PHOTO: Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The first big roar of the match came in the 65th minute, when Luan Garc\u00eda got up in the box after a corner kick and put in an impeccable header that shook the net and unleashed madness in the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, GOAL, LUAAAN GARC\u00cdA SACUDEES THE NETS AND EXPLODES HELL!!!\u201d shouted the commentators. Toluca took the lead at a key moment.<\/p>\n<h2>Decisive penalty and sentence<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44553\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44553\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44553\" src=\"https:\/\/queonnda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/toluca-campeon-x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-44553\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Toluca is champion of the Clausura 2025 \/ PHOTO: Toluca FC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Fifteen minutes from the end, C\u00e1ceres brought down a Scarlets attacker in the area. It was a clear penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Alexis Vega, with cold blood, shot with power and precision to make it 2-0 in the 80th minute.<\/p>\n<p>It was the definitive blow. America, with no reaction, saw the title slip through their hands.<\/p>\n<p>The Nemesio Diez stadium became a real party.<\/p>\n<p>After 15 years without lifting a championship, Toluca&#8217;s fans celebrated again in a big way.<\/p>\n<p>The team coached by Renato Paiva not only defeated the big favorite, but did so with authority, tactical intelligence and total commitment.<\/p>\n<h2>America&#8217;s dream is over<\/h2>\n<p>For Am\u00e9rica, it was a bitter night.<\/p>\n<p>They arrived as three-time champions, with a solid squad and experience in finals, but the dream of a four-time championship -something never before seen in <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/LigaBBVAMX\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liga MXshort tournaments-<\/a>crumbled.<\/p>\n<p>Although they tried to react after the first goal, they left spaces at the back and ended up paying dearly.<\/p>\n<h2>Toluca, the new king of Mexican soccer<\/h2>\n\n<p>With this result, Toluca became champions of the Clausura 2025, thus adding their eleventh league title in history and reaffirming their place among the greats of Mexican soccer.<\/p>\n<p>Since the 2010 Bicentennial title, the Scarlets had been close, but had not succeeded.
