the federal level. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-7\">The judge argued that the rule likely violates the U.S. Constitution by interfering with the federal government&#8217;s exclusive authority over immigration policy under the Supremacy Clause.<\/p>\n<h2><!--more--><\/h2>\n<h2 class=\"ai-optimize-8\">Main penalties imposed by SB 4-C<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_48405\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-48405\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-48405\" immigrants:<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-8\"><strong>Unlawful entry into the state:<\/strong> It would be a misdemeanor of the first degree for any undocumented immigrant over the age of 18 to enter or attempt to enter Florida after evading immigration inspection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-8\">This offense would carry a mandatory minimum penalty of nine months imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-8\"><strong>Illegal re-entry after deportation or refusal:<\/strong> Classified as a third degree felony, it imposed penalties of up to five years imprisonment in aggravated cases (for serious criminal records).<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-8\">The minimum penalty started at one year and one day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-8\">In addition, SB 4-C prohibited bail for defendants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-8\">In addition, it obliged local authorities to notify <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ice.gov\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICE<\/a> (Immigration and the measure has generated confusion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-14\">Despite the ruling, some local police departments continued to enforce certain provisions of the law, forcing the judge to issue additional warnings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-14\">Several protests have been held in Florida demanding Governor DeSantis and Attorney General James Uthmeier to respect the court ruling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-14\">The ACLU called the attempt to implement SB 4-C an \u201cabuse of power designed to punish immigrants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-14\">For now, the future of SB 4-C is
