According to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ambiente.gob.sv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(MARN<\/a>), the earthquake occurred at 5:57 am, with epicenter located off the coast of the department of Usulut\u00e1n, exactly 17 kilometers south of the San Juan del Gozo peninsula. The event had a focal depth of 35 kilometers and its origin was tectonic.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-6 ai-optimize-introduction\">The earthquake was felt with greater intensity in the eastern part of El Salvador, especially in departments such as Usulut\u00e1n, San Miguel and La Uni\u00f3n, although it was also reported in the central area, including San Salvador.
