On Saturday, July 5, 2025, on Alfonso Reyes Street in the Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City, a woman was caught on video insulting a traffic officer<\/a> of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) with racist and classist expressions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The officer was trying to place an immobilizer (“spider”) on her Mercedes-Benz vehicle for not paying the parking meter, but she became hysterical and started with the strong insults, while she was being recorded.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the images, the woman, identified as Ximena Pichel, of Argentine nationality and resident in Mexico, utters insults such as “pinche negro” and “I hate black people like you, I hate you for being nacos” to the officer, who remains calm during the confrontation.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of his sons even intervened to prevent the placement of the immobilizer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Secretariat of Public Safety publicly condemned the conduct of the motorist and endorsed the officer involved.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City initiated an investigation for the discriminatory insults.<\/span><\/p>\n

The video quickly went viral on digital platforms, generating a wave of indignation and criticism of the woman’s behavior.<\/span><\/p>\n

Users on social networks dubbed her “Lady Racist” and demanded legal sanctions for incurring in discriminatory acts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many people began to attack her through her social networks and taking out ‘her dirty laundry’ and her background, such as that she was a model, actress and has had other cases of fights with neighbors.<\/p>\n

This incident highlights the latent racism and classism in Mexican society.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to INEGI’s National Survey on Discrimination (ENADIS) 2022, 35.6% of the Afro-descendant population and 28% of the indigenous population reported having suffered discrimination, mainly because of their skin tone and way of dressing.<\/span><\/p>\n
