considered by many to be the greatest fighter of all time &#8211; have paved the way for new generations.<\/p>\n<p>Nunes, a native of Salvador de Bahia, retired in 2023 as a simultaneous champion in two divisions.<\/p>\n<p>Today, fighters like Mayra Bueno Silva continue to carry the Brazilian flag with determination and success.<\/p>\n<h2>Combate Global and the boom of Latinas in the U.S.<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_62208\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62208\" style=\"width: 936px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-62208\" src=\"https:\/\/queonnda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Melissa-Amaya-IG.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"936\" height=\"1502\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-62208\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Melissa Amaya is one of the Latina fighters in\u00a0MMA \/ PHOTO: Melissa Amaya&#8217;s Instagram.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Miami-based promoter Combate Global has been instrumental in the development of Latino female talent in the US.<\/p>\n<p>Its bilingual and multicultural approach has allowed fighters such as Melissa Amaya (of Honduran descent) and Lucero &#8220;La Loba&#8221;
