I never used drugs for fun. I would spend a week drinking only coffee and eat an apple a day and water.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"414\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">At the most critical point, her weight went as low as 48 kilos, while during the reign she weighed 55 kg, an aspect that emphasizes the extremes to which she went in her obsession to stay slim.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_71230\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-71230\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-71230 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/queonnda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/12525-aliciamachadopreslibrocallatebocamia06.jpg\" alt=\"Alicia Machado, interview\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1414\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-71230\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">PHOTO: Mezcalent<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"417\" data-end=\"574\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">The pressure of her image, public scrutiny and media harassment unleashed devastating episodes. Alicia said she tried to take her own life on two occasions: the first a few months after her coronation, and the second at the age of 22, while starring in her second telenovela. <\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"672\" data-end=\"753\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">&#8220;I went through two suicide attempts&#8230;a tough decade for me,&#8221; Machado recounted, noting that these memories are still very present despite her healing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"985\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">Alicia confessed that it was the arrival of her daughter Dinorah, now 17, that gave her a new purpose and motivated her to heal.
