Ford will have to recall 354,097 vehicles in the United States for a defect in its instrument panel that prevents the display from showing vital information, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).<\/p>\n

Ford has had to issue around 100 recalls in the United States this year, more than any other manufacturer in the country, affecting some 2 million vehicles.<\/p>\n

Ford cars recalled due to dashboard failure<\/h2>\n

In the first six months of the year, Ford set a new record with 88, surpassing General Motors’ (GM) 77 in 2014.<\/p>\n

Ford’s dashboard failure recall affects F-150 (2025), F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 pickup truck models from 2025-2026.<\/p>\n

The largest number of units that may need repair, 278,376, are of the F-150 model, Ford’s most popular model.<\/p>\n

Documents posted by NHTSA<\/a> on its website indicate that the instrument display goes blank when starting some of the affected vehicles.<\/p>\n

For this reason, the driver cannot see information such as the speedometer or warnings.<\/p>\n

“The inability to see this information increases the risk of a crash,” NHTSA noted.<\/p>\n

The federal agency noted that Ford dealers are required to update vehicle<\/a> software free of charge before delivering new units to their owners.<\/p>\n

He also warned that if they fail to do so, they face a fine of up to $27,168 per car.<\/p>\n

In the case of those that have already been delivered, dealers will have to repair the vehicles at the owner’s home.<\/p>\n

Or pick up the truck to complete the operation and return it to the owner afterwards.<\/p>\n

Although Ford has not indicated what the cost of its latest recall will be, the manufacturer is facing a hefty bill.<\/p>\n

The recall of 694,217 units of Bronco Sport and Escape models cost the company some $570 million in the second quarter of the year.<\/p>\n

In 2024, the company reported payments of $5.831 million in recall and warranty costs, provisions of $6.294 million for new warranties, and potential additional exposure of up to $1.8 billion.<\/p>\n
