The renowned group<\/a> Grupo Pesado, originally from Monterrey, Nuevo Le\u00f3n, announced on September 9, 2025-through its official Instagram account-the death of Guadalupe Ch\u00e1vez Guzm\u00e1n, affectionately known as “Don Lupe”, who was their manager for many years.<\/p>\n

In their message, the band expressed with sadness: “With We are deeply saddened to say goodbye to our dear Don Lupe, businessman from Tampico, great friend and for many years manager of Grupo Pesado. Thank you for all your dedication, for accompanying us in every step and for being an essential part of this story. Fly high, dear friend, your mark will remain forever in our music and in our hearts”. <\/em><\/p>\n

Guadalupe Ch\u00e1vez Guzm\u00e1n was much more than a manager: as a businessman originally from Tampico, he played a fundamental role in the national and international projection of Grupo Pesado.<\/p>\n

Thanks to his management, the band was able to reach big stages and expand its reach both in Mexico and the United States. His contribution was an essential and silent piece behind the success of hits such as “Loco”,<\/em> “A chillar a otra parte”<\/em> and other recognized songs of the norte\u00f1o repertoire.<\/p>\n

So far, neither the band nor official sources have released the cause of Don Lupe’s death. This silence has generated concern and uncertainty among fans and colleagues in the media, who expect soon some clarification or additional statement from the family or the closest environment.<\/p>\n

The news of his death shocked the regional Mexican music community. Not only Grupo Pesado issued heartfelt condolences: bands such as Grupo Intenso dedicated warm words to him, calling him a “light in the lives of those of us who knew him”, while Los Reyes del Camino highlighted his humor and legacy, calling him a “great character of norte\u00f1o music”.<\/p>\n

Grupo Pesado, founded in 1993 by Beto Zapata and Pepe Elizondo, achieved lasting relevance thanks to the contribution of figures such as Don Lupe.
