Saul Canelo Alvarez, undisputed super middleweight champion, assured that he does not intend to leave any doubts in his expected fight against American Terence “Bud” Crawford next Saturday, September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The 35-year-old Mexican fighter said he plans to finish the fight with a bang:<\/p>\n

“I’m going to knock him out in six or seven rounds,” he declared with conviction during his official arrival at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas hotel, where he was greeted by standing ovations, mariachi music and Mexican flags. Crawford, 37, currently ranked No. 3 in ESPN’<\/a>s pound-for-pound rankings, remained calm in the face of boos from the crowd. “Nothing surprises me about Canelo,” he responded tersely when questioned by the media.<\/p>\n

Canelo Alvarez has not scored a knockout since November 6, 2021, when he defeated Caleb Plant in the 11th round to become undisputed super middleweight champion.<\/p>\n

Since then he has seven fights (6 wins and 1 loss), the most recent in May 2025, when he defeated Cuban William Scull by unanimous decision in Saudi Arabia, regaining his four world titles (WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF).<\/p>\n

Crawford, on the other hand, is coming off a unanimous decision over Uzbekistan’s Israil Madrimov in August 2024 at 154 pounds.<\/p>\n

He will now move up two divisions to face Canelo Alvarez at 168 pounds.<\/p>\n

His technical team assures that the American has enough power to compete at that weight.<\/p>\n

On Crawford’s side, his strategist Brian “BoMac” McIntyre acknowledged that it will be a demanding battle but believes his pupil can make history:<\/p>\n
