The Latin American show business world was in mourning this September 11 after confirming the death of Eduardo Serrano, one of the most recognized and beloved Venezuelan actors<\/a> on the small screen.<\/p>\n

With an extensive acting career and remembered for his participation in international productions such as El Cuerpo del Deseo (<\/em> Telemundo, 2005) and El Rostro de la Venganza (<\/em> Telemundo, 2012), Serrano passed away at the age of 82 after facing a tough battle against an aggressive cancer.<\/p>\n

The news was confirmed by his family, particularly by his daughter, actress Magaly Serrano, who shared an emotional farewell message through her social networks.<\/p>\n

Magaly, deeply moved, wrote in her Instagram account an extensive and heartfelt text to honor the memory of her father, whom she described as “the best father that could exist” and a man full of values, dedication and love.<\/p>\n

She also emphasized the closeness and complicity she always had with him: “I have my best memories with you. Your love remains as an indelible mark in each one of us”.<\/p>\n

The message was accompanied by a video with family images that portrayed the actor’s intimate and close life, beyond his career in television.<\/p>\n

Eduardo Serrano was fighting cancer<\/h2>\n

Eduardo Serrano’s departure comes just over a month after his daughter publicly revealed that the actor was facing an aggressive small cell lung cancer with brain metastasis.<\/p>\n

In August, Magaly had started a campaign on the GoFundMe platform to raise funds to help defray the high costs of medical treatment in the United States. In her message, she explained that the process included chemotherapy, radiation, nursing care and palliative care, in addition to basic household expenses.<\/p>\n

On September 3, days before his death, the actress reported that her father had been discharged and was at home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, receiving hospice care to ensure his comfort and companionship in a familiar environment.<\/p>\n

Eduardo Serrano was born in Venezuela and developed a prolific career as a television, theater and film actor. He was one of the most relevant figures of Venezuelan soap operas, participating in numerous productions that led him to become an emblematic face for different generations of television viewers.<\/p>\n
