Singer DannyLux presented this Thursday a billboard in which he reflects on his experience as the son of immigrants who were undocumented, and dedicates his recent Latin Grammy<\/a> nomination to them.<\/p>\n

“My parents gave up everything so that we could have everything. Today they are also Latin Grammy nominees,” reads the billboard placed Thursday on Sunset Avenue, one of the most popular avenues in the city of Los Angeles. In addition to the message, the billboard shows a photo of the singer of Mexican descent as a baby with his family.<\/p>\n

In September, DannyLux received his second consecutive Latin Grammy Award nomination in the category of Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album, thanks to his album ‘Leyenda’.<\/p>\n

The singer competes alongside artists such as Iv\u00e1n Cornejo, with his album ‘Mirada’; Grupo Firme, with ‘Evoluci\u00f3n’; Tito Double P, with ‘Inc\u00f3modo’; or Carin Le\u00f3n, with ‘Palabra De To’s (Seca)’.<\/p>\n

DannyLux’s announcement comes at a tense time for the migrant community in California.<\/p>\n

Affected by President Donald Trump’s immigration policy and the massive raids that have intensified in the state since last June.<\/p>\n

DannyLux, whose real name is Daniel Balderrama Espinoza, is a Mexican-American singer and songwriter born in Palm Springs, California, in 2004.<\/p>\n

The son of Mexican immigrants, he grew up influenced by traditional Mexican music and the sierre\u00f1o style.<\/p>\n

His career took off quickly thanks to his emotional and authentic lyrics, fusing regional Mexican with modern sounds.<\/p>\n

Signed to Warner Music Latina, he has collaborated with artists such as Eslab\u00f3n Armado and has been nominated for a Latin Grammy on multiple occasions.<\/p>\n
