For Spanish musician Raphael, receiving a Person of the Year award at the Latin Grammy Awards “is a priceless moment” and he never imagined this moment in his more than 60-year career.
I dedicate this award “to the public,” said the musician during his appearance on the red carpet at the event where the 72-year-old artist will be honored on Wednesday.

What excites him most about this gala, prior to the 26th edition of the Latin Grammy Awards that will take place tomorrow in Las Vegas (USA), “is to have a good time with the family,” he added.
And he expects it to “be a special night.” “It could be my big night,” he joked, referencing one of his most famous songs.
Raphael’s legacy
The 82-year-old singer, born in Linares, began his professional career when he was only 16 years old and his career took off in the 1960s.
In 1966 he represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest with ‘Yo soy aquel”, one of his best known songs to date.
His dramatic style on stage, his powerful voice, his wide vocal range, as well as the theme of love in his music, gave him the title of the ‘Divo of the romantic ballad’, making him an idol in Spain and Latin America.

The Latin Recording Academy will celebrate the 26th edition of the Latin Grammy Awards, reported Agencia EFE, with Bad Bunny as the top nominee with 12 nominations, followed by Argentinians Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso with 10 mentions.
