U.S. President Donald Trump will deliver an address to the nation Wednesday night from the White House to take stock of his nearly first year in office.

“My fellow Americans: I will be giving an ADDRESS TO THE NATION tomorrow night, LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, at 9:00 p. m. EST. I look forward to seeing you then. It’s been a great year for our country, and the BEST IS YET TO COME!” he announced this Tuesday on his Truth Social account.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt explained to the press that Trump will focus his speech on highlighting the achievements made since his return to power last January.

“He will talk extensively about the accomplishments of the past 11 months, all that he has done to restore greatness to our country and what he plans to do to continue to deliver for the American people over the next three years,” he said.

The president is expected to address his efforts to reduce the cost of living in the face of growing criticism among his own supporters, who reproach him for having focused more on foreign policy than on domestic affairs.

Rising prices have become one of the main workhorses in the run-up to next year’s mid-term congressional elections because of persistent inflation, at 3%, which the Federal Reserve links directly to the tariffs enacted by Trump.

This factor was one of the key elements behind the resounding electoral defeat suffered by the Republicans last November 5 in some states.

Trump held a rally in Pennsylvania last week to defend his economic management and has another similar event planned this Friday in North Carolina.
