A new video, recorded 11 days before the death of nurse Alex Pretti at the hands of an immigration agent in Minneapolis, shows a previous altercation amidst strong protests against the federal government’s deployment in the opposition-led city.

The video, shared Thursday by President Donald Trump on his social networks, was published yesterday by the digital portal The News Movement.

Alex Pretti video leaked days before his death

In the images, a group of at least five heavily armed federal agents can be seen holding Pretti and throwing him to the ground, after the man shouts insults at them, hits one of their cars and breaks one of their taillights.

The footage does not capture the beginning of the altercation, but shows Alex Pretti along with other civilians shouting and blowing whistles to warn of the presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, one of the tactics used by communities in Minneapolis and other U.S. cities to protest the Trump Administration’s aggressive immigration tactics.

The officers in the video throw tear gas and rubber balls towards the protesters and eventually release Alex Pretti, get back into the vans and move out of the area.

This new video comes a day after CNN revealed that Alex Pretti was being targeted by immigration agents before he was shot by a Border Patrol agent on the streets of Minneapolis last Saturday.

According to the U.S. media outlet, Pretti was injured, with a broken rib, after the altercation and federal agents had begun “documenting details” about the man prior to his death.

Speaking to CBS News, the attorney representing Pretti’s family confirmed that the man, who worked as a nurse in the intensive care unit for the Department of Veterans Affairs, had been “violently assaulted by ICE agents” a week before he was shot.

“Nothing that happened a week earlier can justify Alex’s murder at the hands of ICE,” added the attorney.

President Donald Trump published the images of Alex Pretti’s altercation on his official Truth Social account, adding in the background the image of Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren as a mockery of the congresswoman who has openly criticized the actions of the feds and called for restricting the scope of action of immigration agencies.

Pretti is the second civilian to die at the hands of state agents since the Trump administration launched its operation in Minneapolis, a city governed by opposition politicians.

American Renee Good, 37, was also shot by an ICE agent on January 7, sparking a wave of protests in the city.
