On Wednesday, Brazilian André Jardine stepped down as coach of Mexican soccer club América, a club he joined in 2023 and with which he won three league titles, one Champions League title and one Super Cup.
“Club América informs that, after several meetings with André Jardine, the team and the coach agreed to terminate the tenure of André and his coaching staff at the helm of the Águilas,” wrote the team from the nation’s capital.
The titles that made Jardine a legend
Jardine joined America in June 2023.
He led the team to the Apertura 2023, Clausura 2024 and Apertura 2024 titles.
Successes that put the cream of the cream entity on the list of champions with 16.

In the Clausura 2025 tournament, which ended last May, América was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Pumas.
Born in Porto Alegre 46 years ago, Jardine began his coaching career at the Sao Paulo club.
After coaching the Brazilian national team at the Tokyo Olympics, he came to Mexican soccer to sit on the San Luis bench before moving to America.
