Manchester City confirmed why it is one of the top favorites in the 2025 Club World Cup after thrashing Italy’s Juventus 5-2. The match was played at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, and demonstrated the English team’s tactical, technical and physical superiority, as they claimed their third consecutive victory in the group stage.
Right from the start, Pep Guardiola’s team took control. In the 9th minute, Jérémy Doku opened the scoring after a great individual play. Just two minutes later, Juventus responded with a goal by Teun Koopmeiners, who equalized the match, taking advantage of a mismatch in City’s defense. However, the Italian momentum was short-lived. In the 26th minute, defender Pierre Kalulu scored an own goal when trying to clear a low cross, giving City a 2-1 lead before the break. From that point on, the English dominated without a hitch.
Second half without mercy

For the second half, Manchester City intensified its offensive.
In the 52nd minute, Erling Haaland scored the third goal after a pass from Foden.
This goal was special, as it marked the 300th goal in the professional career of the Norwegian striker, who continues to break records at only 24 years of age.
Phil Foden added to the goal-fest in the 69th minute with an excellent finish from the edge of the box.
But the most spectacular moment came in the 75th minute, when Savinho, who had just come off the bench, scored a spectacular goal with a shot into the corner to make it 5-1.
Juventus made up for the deficit in the 84th minute with a goal by Dušan Vlahović, but it was too late: the rout was already over.
Group G is as follows

With this victory, Manchester City closed as undefeated leader of Group G with 9 points.
Juventus, despite the defeat, qualified second with 6 points.
Both advance to the round of 16, but City’s message was clear: they are ready to fight for the championship.
