Mexican singer and songwriter Gloria Trevi, known as the Queen of Mexican Pop, will be honored with the Hispanic Heritage Legend Award, one of the most important awards given by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF).
The announcement was made this Thursday and highlights both his musical contribution and his social commitment throughout more than three decades of career.
HHF President and CEO Antonio Tijerino highlighted the artist’s cultural reach: “Gloria Trevi is not only a musical icon, she is a cultural force whose voice has resonated across generations and borders. Her fearless artistry, record-breaking tours and unwavering support embody the spirit of this award.
Trevi, 56, shared the news on her social networks with a message full of gratitude to her audience, to whom she dedicated the award: “More than praising me, I think it honors the audience that for many years has turned my music into hits that intertwine with their own stories. To them, who break generational and social barriers in concerts where they become one voice, I dedicate this honor”.
The ceremony will be held on September 4 in Washington D.C., where reguetonero Rauw Alejandro, actor and comedian Cheech Marín, businesswoman Julissa Prado and NPR journalist Félix Contreras will also be recognized.
The honor for Gloria Trevi

Throughout her career, Gloria Trevi has sold more than 30 million albums and has been considered one of the most influential Latin artists of all time. In 2018, she was inducted into the Latin Music Songwriters Hall of Fame, the only woman to receive that distinction that year.
Her biographical series, Gloria Trevi: Ellas soy yo ( 2023), reached around 6.3 million viewers in Mexico and the U.S., and gave rise to Mi Soundtrack, a trilogy of albums with new versions of her classics, as well as unreleased songs that cover her career.
In 2024, he celebrated 30 years of career with the Mi Soundtrack World Tour, which sold out in the United States, Latin America and Spain, and broke performance records in Mexico, confirming his relevance on the international scene.
Born in Monterrey as Gloria de los Ángeles Treviño Ruiz, the singer has used her platform to support various causes.
Through the Ana Dalai Foundation, created in 2005, she provides support to homeless children both in Mexico and the United States. She has also been a constant voice in the defense of women victims of domestic violence and the LGBTIQ+ community, establishing herself as an activist as well as an artist.
The Hispanic Heritage Awards are supported by more than 40 national institutions in the U.S. that work for the well-being and representation of the Latino community.
The award seeks to highlight those who contribute with their talent and commitment to strengthen cultural pride and Hispanic identity in the United States.
Previous honorees include names such as Linda Ronstadt, Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny, Jessica Alba, Sebastian Yatra and Selena Gomez, placing Gloria Trevi among a select group of world-renowned Latin figures.
