Kim Kardashian spoke out against U.S. President Donald Trump’s immigration policies during a tribute to her criminal justice activism at the Diane von Furstenberg DVF Awards held in Venice, reports trade media Variety.
The U.S. businesswoman and influencer was asked Thursday by the press about her opinion regarding the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids being carried out under the current Administration, shortly before receiving the award.
“On the news you hear, ‘Oh, these are people who have committed these crimes,'” Kardashian said. “But then you hear about all the people who have worked so hard to build our country, and so many others who are a fundamental part of it who are being affected,” she added.

“It’s very difficult, but I think we have to do everything we can to protect the people who have really supported and built our country,” said the most popular member of the Kardashian clan.
The reality TV star was recognized for her ongoing work in favor of criminal justice reform.
Kardashian received the award from Chris Young, a man she helped free from a life sentence without the possibility of parole for a drug-related misdemeanor.
This is not the first time that the businesswoman has spoken out against the immigration policies that have been tightened in the United States since the beginning of Trump’s second term.
In June, when raids intensified in California, Kardashian called them “inhumane,” defended the contribution of immigrants to society and asked not to “ignore” injustices, reported Agencia EFE.
