U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday urged his administration to be “ruthless” with criminals and respond with “force and determination” in response to the August murder of a Ukrainian woman in Charlotte that his administration is championing to justify getting tough on crime.

“We cannot allow depraved and recidivist criminality to continue spreading destruction and death throughout our country. We must respond with strength and determination. We have to be ruthless like them. That’s the only thing they understand,” Trump stated in a video posted on X on the White House account.

Trump blames Democrats

As he did this Monday in his first reaction on the assassination, Trump again today blamed the policies of Democrats for the violence in the country.

Irina Zarutska’s killer, identified as Decarlos Brown, had been arrested on fourteen occasions since 2011.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt explained shortly before the release of the video.

Leavitt added that despite the fact that “he had a record” and had served five years in prison for an armed robbery offense, a “Democratic” judge released him without bail this past January:

“He should never have been on that train that night,” he commented.

Accuses Democrats of chaos in cities

Trump today accused “judges, politicians and activists on the radical left” of having adopted a policy he dubbed “catch and release for thugs and murderers.”

He assured that the Democrats are sowing chaos in the cities they govern.

As Trump said, of the 25 most dangerous cities in the United States, 24 are governed by Democratic mayors.

However, different crime indexes elaborated in the U.S. also include several cities with Republican mayors among the worst in the country.

The U.S. president also used today’s video to brag about the alleged reduction in crime in Washington, where he has deployed the National Guard, and again referred to Chicago, which Trump has been threatening for weeks as the next target of the military and other federal agencies, EFE reported.
