Lupillo Rivera’s recent confession about the hearing problems he is facing has generated concern among his fans and has brought to the table the risks that often accompany a career in music. In an interview with Despierta America, the 53-year-old Mexican singer candidly explained the deterioration of his health, noting that hearing loss has begun to affect not only his professional life, but also essential aspects of his daily routine.

During the conversation, Rivera related that the problem manifested itself more severely than he had imagined. He revealed that he has almost completely lost the hearing in one of his ears, while the other does not respond to the level necessary to sustain the demands of his work.

“I think this moment is very strong for me because I really like my work, I really like the stage, the adrenaline,” declared the artist, visibly moved.

The singer, known for his regional Mexican hits, confessed that this condition has led him to rethink his performance on stage, although he insists on continuing to give the best of himself to his audience.

The health condition of the brother of the late Jenni Rivera came to light shortly after his departure from the reality show La Casa de los Famosos All-Stars. At the time, the production informed that he was leaving the show due to a “critical medical situation”, without giving further details. It was not until his television interview when the singer himself clarified that it was a hearing loss that forced him to seek specialized attention.

Rivera explained that the impact has reached levels that complicate daily tasks.

“I don’t listen to alarms in the morning anymore, I don’t listen when I wake up my team to go to work, the door; on stage I rely on vibration,” he noted.

These limitations also have a direct impact on his artistic career. Although he continues to perform live, the wear and tear is evident:

“The public pays for a ticket to go see the artist and the artist must be at one hundred percent and I am not at one hundred percent […] I am struggling a lot, I try to sing two hours fifteen, two hours and a half always and so far I have done it but I do get tired a lot,” he confessed.

The singer indicated that he is under treatment with specialists in otorhinolaryngology in the hope of reversing, as far as possible, the hearing damage. However, so far he has not shared an official medical diagnosis nor has he specified whether his condition is irreversible.

Rivera assured that he will continue with discipline and medical care, aware that his health must be a priority. His statements have awakened empathy among colleagues and fans, who have sent him messages of support and encouragement through social networks.

Lupillo Rivera’s case also reflects a reality faced by many professional musicians: constant exposure to high sound levels can cause irreparable damage to hearing. His testimony serves as a warning to new generations of artists, reminding them of the importance of prevention and hearing health care in the entertainment world.
