‘Cuando nadie me ve’, the documentary series about Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz, which premieres on January 27, 2026, shows the part of the artist “that no one knows,” co-producers Movistar Plus+ and Sony Music Vision announced Thursday in a statement.
Directed by Álvaro Ron, the documentary revisits the musician’s flamenco origins, exposes his artistic and personal challenges and combines everyday scenes and “moments never before shared”, which aim to bring viewers closer to “the man behind the icon”. In fact, the series takes its name from one of his songs.
The story delves into a moment of “personal and creative transformation” of the artist through more than 200 hours of exclusive material, personal archive images and testimonies of close figures such as the Spanish Rosalía, the Colombians Juanes and Shakira, the Puerto Rican Luis Fonsi, the Italian Laura Pausini, the Dominican Juan Luis Guerra or the Argentinean Nathy Peluso.
“It has been an exciting journey, sometimes fun and sometimes difficult. But what are we but light and dark. I hope you enjoy it,” Sanz commented in the release.
Alejandro Sanz and his documentary

According to the director, the project arises from the concern to understand the musician: “What is inside some people that pushes them to write songs or to paint? What hole do they have to fill that they need to create… Who knows?
“The day we met, we made a pact: I proposed to him to make a cubist portrait of his story through his songs, and he agreed to share moments of his intimate life that help us understand the person inside the artist,” Ron explained.
Sonic Music Vision’s executive producer, Sergi Reitg, said the production is “an enormous responsibility and a privilege” for the company, and appreciated the opportunity to tell the life story of “one of the greatest Spanish-language musical artists in history.
He thanks her “for her immense generosity in opening the doors of her life to us and allowing us to show her most authentic side”.
Likewise, Movistar Plus executive producer Jorge Ortiz believes that, as with the song ‘Cuando nadie me ve’, in which Sanz deals with the difficulty of being oneself, this documentary series with the same name “reveals how an artistic identity is forged, and also to understand the personal path that sustains it,” reported Agencia EFE.
