Puebla dominated at the start of the game and in the 11th minute had a chance to take the lead through Esteban Lozano, who accepted an assist from Colombian Édgar Guerra, but missed the target.

Little by little the Eagles regained control, approached the opponent’s area until in the 43rd minute Veiga dominated a ball sent by Violante and headed in to make it 0-1 in his first league game.

América went for more and in the 45+1 minute let the second goal slip away; Violante reached the area with everything in his favor, but missed.

In the second half, the Azulcremas continued to press and in the 61st minute Violante got his revenge; he accepted a ball from Henry Martin and left-footed to make it 0-2.

Puebla ran out of answers and in the 79th minute received a third blow, a right-footed goal by Dávila, to make the score 0-3.

Facing a defeated opponent, in the 87th minute Zúñiga scored with a right-footed pass from Patricio Salas.

Las Águilas now have three wins, two draws, two losses and 11 points. Puebla is fourteenth with five points.

The seventh date of the Liga MX championship will continue on Saturday when leaders Chivas Guadalajara, led by Argentine coach Gabriel Milito, will host third-placed Cruz Azul, while champions Toluca will visit Necaxa, San Luis will visit Atlas and Mazatlán will visit Xolos Tijuana.

On Sunday, at the close of matchday seven, Spanish midfielder Sergio Canales’ Monterrey will face Pumas UNAM and Juárez FC will take on Querétaro.
