Mexican soccer’s America drew 1-1 with Philadelphia Union on Wednesday to qualify for the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup, where they will face MLS’s Nashville SC.
The Águilas won 2-1 on aggregate, after last week’s 1-0 victory in the first leg of the round of 16. Brazilian Rodrigo Dourado scored for the home side; Venezuelan Jesús Bueno equalized from the penalty spot for the visitors.
America strikes first

Philadelphia tried to go forward from the start, which cost them to be surprised by America.
In the sixth minute, the Águilas made it 1-0 thanks to a cross from the left that Rodrigo Dourado headed into the box.
The home team dominated the game and had chances to increase the score through Uruguayan Brian Rodríguez and U.S. player Alejandro Zendejas.
But both failed in the definition.
In the second half, Zendejas brought down Francis Westfield in the box.
The referee awarded a penalty kick that Jesús Bueno took to the right of Rodolfo Cota to tie the game in the 49th minute.
