Mexican actress, comedian and host Angélica Vale publicly confirmed, amid tears, that she is in the process of divorcing television producer and executive Otto Padrón, with whom she shared 14 years of marriage and has two children in common: Angélica Masiel and Daniel Nicolás.
The news, which began to circulate in the U.S. media on November 4, was addressed by the artist herself during the broadcast of her radio program “La Vale Show”, where she broke her silence and told frankly how she has lived this personal process.
“Now it is time to speak. I am trembling, to tell you the truth, I am trembling. I never thought I would live a moment like this in my life,” she said with her voice cracking at the beginning of her speech.
Angélica Vale decided to clarify the rumors that had been circulating in social networks and the media for days.
“First, I have to tell you that yes, yes it is true. Yes it is true that I am getting divorced. It is true that since April I am separated; we no longer live together,” she said.
Despite her initial serenity, the actress confessed that the news of the legal proceedings took her by surprise, as she was not directly informed by her still husband.
“I found out that Otto Padrón, the father of my children, had filed for divorce just like you, yesterday, having dinner with him and some friends. That’s how I got the news,” she explained.
According to his account, the information came to him at that time through a text message sent to Otto, in which reference was made to an article published by journalist Javier Ceriani.
“I didn’t know I had put him in. He had called me a few days before, he spoke to me on Friday, to tell me that we were going to start the process. I said yes,” he added.

The actress revealed that her ex-husband was also surprised by the speed with which the lawsuit was filed, assuring her that he was unaware that his lawyers had filed it just a week before Angélica’s birthday. She also explained that she had decided to keep their separation private for several months to protect their children emotionally.

The music executive requested joint custody of his two children and proposed that the children alternate their time between the two homes. According to the case file, Padron requested that the children spend half of the week with each parent, rotating weekends equally.
In addition, the producer established that both parents should inform each other in advance if either parent changes their domicile, since this is where the children will reside. He also requested that the children not be used as messengers and that the parents avoid discussing legal matters in front of them.
Despite the emotional impact, Angélica Vale insisted that she maintains a relationship of respect and communication with Otto Padrón for the welfare of her children. The actress did not offer more details about the causes of the divorce, but assured that she is going through this process with serenity and faith.
