The animated film ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ (‘The K-Pop Warriors’), a movie that was released weeks ago directly on the internet by Netflix in most parts of the world, became the most watched film in U.S. theaters this weekend with a gross of $18 million.

A figure with which it has surpassed the horror film‘Weapons’, which earned $15.6 million in the United States for a worldwide figure of $199 million.

In a weekend of low theater attendance, ‘Freakier Friday’ (‘Put Yourself in My Place Again’) placed third with $9.2 million for a worldwide total of $113 million since its August 8 release.

K-Pop Demon Hunters has captivated everyone since its premiere in July by Netflix, so much so that the company decided to put a movie version for people to sing the songs, but no one expected that with only two days on display, it would dethrone all other tapes at the box office.

The new adventure of Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four’ continued its box-office decline, falling to 9.2 million in U.S. theaters.

The film starring Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby has earned $490 million since its arrival in theaters on July 25, a figure that places it in ninth place among the top-grossing films of 2025, led by China’s ‘Ne Zha 2’ with $1.901 billion.

Closing out this weekend’s top five is another animated film, ‘The Bad Guys 2’, which adds $5.1 million to $149 million.

The K-Pop animated film Demon Hunters is not only topping the box office in the US, but is also sweeping the Billboard charts in song sales and soundtrack sales.
