With a goal by Anísio Cabral, one of the sensations of the tournament, Portugal beat Austria (1-0) in the final of the U-17 World Cup in Qatar to become the U-17 champion for the first time in its history.
José Murinho has a gem in Benfica’s youth team. At 17 years of age, Anísio has shown throughout the World Cup that he could make the leap to the elite at any moment. It would not be strange that he would soon begin to enjoy some opportunity from the man who was once Real Madrid’s coach.
Anísio’s goal makes Portugal champion

It was his goal that brought Portugal its first-ever Under-17 World Cup to its trophy cabinet.
He signed it in the first half, with uncertainty and with the intervention of the VAR, which decided in his favor when the referee consulted whether a cross from the right flank by Cunha Duarte was offside.
It was his seventh goal of the U-17 World Cup, just one less than Johannes Moser, the other star of the tournament.
The Austrian lost the final scoring duel and, although he won the Golden Shoe, he did not win the most important trophy, the title with which he would have been credited as champion.
Austria is just a step away

Austria tried unsuccessfully to counter Anísio’s goal and came close to an equalizer in the 85th minute.
This was when Daniel Frauscher hit the right post of the goal defended by Romário Cunha with a shot from outside the area.
It was the last attempt by the Central European team, which was on the verge of glory.
Also, like Portugal, it was destined to make history because it had never won the U-17 World Cup.
Anísio, with his goal, prevented it and crowned his team, whose greatest success until Thursday was a third place in the 1989 edition in Scotland.
