Apple TV will premiere next July 24 the movie ‘Dink’, a comedy that follows the crusade of an old tennis prodigy against pickleball, the fashionable sport in the United States, and which features the participation of former ATP World No. 1, the American Andy Roddick.
The feature film stars Dusty Boyd (Jake Johnson), who ends up torn between tennis and pickleball, his playing partner Candace (Mary Steenburgen), and his father Chuck (Ed Harris), a staunch defender of the tennis tradition.
The cast also includes Boyd’s old adversary Roddick and a plethora of comedians including Patton Oswalt, Chloe Fineman, Chris Parnell and Aaron Chen.

Produced by Ben Stiller, this is one of the first films based on pickleball, a sport that has been practiced in the United States since the late 1960s, although in recent years it has experienced a wave of popularity that has spread to the other side of the Atlantic.
Pickleball opens a third way to padel and tennis by simplifying the game even more and adding a social component.
This sport already has a professional circuit in the United States, in addition to the Pickleball World Tour, with a strong presence in Asia.
Among the celebrities who play the sport are Leonardo DiCaprio, Bill Gates and Emma Watson, reported Agencia EFE, while LeBron James, Patrick Mahomes and Nick Kyrgios have put several million dollars into the American circuit.
