The separation of Shakira and Gerard Piqué was one of the most talked about in recent years, not only because of the magnitude of the relationship – and all that it represented in the media – but also because of what happened afterwards: songs by the artist in which she addressed difficult and tense moments of her history with the ex-football player, which kept the conversation going for months.
With that background, any sign of rapprochement between the two has attracted attention.
According to Vanitatis, the ex-couple took a relevant step in their coexistence as parents: they went back to talking on the phone and stopped using Tonino, Shakira’s brother, as an intermediary.
The same media assures that communication is now more direct and, although there are calls, the main way would be WhatsApp. In words attributed to a source quoted by Vanitatis, now “they can do it without arguing”.
The nuance is important: we do not speak of sentimental reconciliation, but of a practical adjustment to make contact more fluid and less wearing.
The rapprochement does not imply a close personal relationship. According to the same version, Shakira and Piqué communicate only for the strictly necessary, and almost always for matters related to their children, Milan and Sasha.

Vanitatis reported that Lamine Yamal plans to acquire the house in Esplugues de Llobregat that belonged to Shakira and Piqué, a step that -according to that approach- helps to close a stage and get rid of a place closely associated with the couple’s life together.
The new climate of cordiality also coincides with Shakira’s recent statements on the Argentine program Por el Mundo, where she surprised by speaking about Piqué from a more positive perspective in his role as a father.
In that interview, while explaining the discipline of his children, he said: “Also the father, it must be said, is very disciplined… discipline is basic… That is non-negotiable”.
Vanitatis had already pointed out months ago that, as part of the preparation of Shakira’s international tour, a system was organized for Piqué to maintain contact and time with his children, including the version that he rented an apartment in the United States to be with the little ones while she traveled for work.
The central point of this story is that it is a practical reconciliation aimed at shared parenting, not a sentimental comeback.
