Avatar: Fire and Ash’, the third installment in the James Cameron saga, has dominated the box office in its first weekend in theaters, with $345 million worldwide, a good figure but a far cry from the $749 million earned by the original in 2009.
However, specialists consider it a good start since the ‘Avatar’ movies remain in theaters for a long time, which favors big final box offices, as reported by sites such as CNN.
Avatar leads worldwide box office

The first ‘Avatar’ remained the top-grossing film for seven weeks and ended up grossing $2.923 billion worldwide, putting it at number one in history.
And the second installment, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, is the third highest grosser with 2.343 million, after seven weeks at number one.
So we’ll have to wait and see if this third film in the saga matches or surpasses the previous ones.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is tracking to overperform in its second domestic weekend with an estimated $55M to $65M and only around a 30% drop.
That is a far stronger hold than Avatar: The Way of Water, which fell 52% in its second weekend.
